Sero-prevalence of Hepatitis B virus and plasmodium co-infection profile among patients in Wukari and Environs, North East Nigeria

Hepatitis B virus and plasmodium co-infection is of an increase in developing countries as a result lack proper diagnosis leading to increased morbidity. This study was determine the sero-prevalence Virus Plasmodium profile among patients Wukari environs. Seventy (70) subjects’ with age range between 0 80 years participated standard microbiological techniques were observed this study. The results obtained showed 34 (48.6%) males 36 (51.4%) females. Four (5.7%) participants sero-positive for HBsAg. HBsAb, HBcAb, HBeAg HBeAb while 66 not detected positive. Male 5.9% 5.6% female sero-positive. 20 (28.6%) malaria. comprises 7 13 20.6% 36.1% females distribution parasitaemia by gender across that 24 (34.3%) had parasitaemia, out which 9 15 26.5% 41.7% parasitaemia. There no malaria, despite both having prevalence 5.7% 34.3% respectively. research on its own has shown order reduce HBV co-infection, mass immunization adults antiviral drugs should be provided those are infected, co-infections screening programs instituted all levels institutions country rate level transmission hepatitis virus. also added puddle knowledge already available area research.
